Henry VIII

becomes King of England

born 28th June 1491 in Greenwich, London, England
died 28th January 1547 in Whitehall, London, England
The second to reign in the House of Tudor after Henry VII, later came Edward VI, Mary I and Elisabeth I
He is most famous for his divorces and the founding of the Church of England. This happened when the Pope refused to divorce Henry from his first wife Catherine of Aragon (she couldn't bare him a successor), the result is known, he threw the Roman Catholics out and became the head of his own church.

Hermann's Hermits sang the song "I am Henry the VII" in 1965 and topped the American Billboard Hot 100
The original song was "I'm Henery the Eigth, I Am", a British Music Hall song from 1910, written by Fred Murray and R.P. Weston.
(That's what happens when I go to Google, I get too much information)

Ride of the day:

Another day, another twenty-five kilometer. The ride was very similar to yesterday's. What can I expect; I'm always doing the same round? It only differs in the weather, which way round I ride and the people I meet or should I say whizz by. Today there was an Oma, it seems she didn't hear too well, 'cause she carried on in my path even after I rang my bell three or four times (yes, I have a bell on my cyclo-cross racer. I'm not bothered if I'm not cool). She only moved when I spoke to her and that in an unusual way for a cyclist, friendly.

More again tomorrow, have a nice day, be happy:-)
