Masking Tape was
patented by Richard Drews.
Masking tape,
everyone uses it when decorating. Window panes, walls and windowsills are
masked off when the window frame is painted or if car bodywork needs spaying
the windows, the wheels everything that needs protection from the spray get
masked off. The clou of the masking tape is the way it's wrinkled and very flexible, it can be
stuck around corners, also the adhesive; the tape comes off the surface to
which it is stuck without damaging it. The adhesive comes in a scale between 1
and 100, 1 being weak, painters tape is around 50 and DIY tape is weaker, so
don't be surprised when your masking a big area when the first tape falls off
before your finished taping everything off.

I've got that LP in
my collection.
Birthday of the
day:
27th May 1943
Cilla Black
Our Cilla with
her Liverpudlian accent. Wasn't she sweet when she was young? Imagine those cheeks are now seventy-one years old. She had a great
voice, when I saw that it's her birthday I immediately had the song in my head
You're My World. It was in my mind although I haven't heard it since the
sixties.
Died on this
day:
27th May 1790
Jeremiah
Carlton, laziest man in history, heir to a large fortune at 19 went to bed
& stayed there for next 70 years, dies at 89
Thoughts of the
day:
I didn't feel
like cycling so I sat down and tried to philosophy on the days happenings, not
the easiest things to do but (you poor sods) here what I brought to paper:
Here I am sat on
the settee thinking about what to rant on about. Today started late, I slept or
should I say I stayed in bed until 6:15 AM, there was loads of time to waste, I
had an appointment at "The Dentist" at 8:15 and it just takes me an
hour to get there. At last I had enough time and mind to shave my weeks beard off.
It takes years off my face and I had to think of my "Challenge",
every gram counts. Well it worked, this week I am 2400 grams lighter than last.
How about my competitors? It's all very quiet on the Eastern Front, have you
given up? I hope not, all three of us could do with a couple of inches less
around the midriff.
Well today it took a little taken longer to get to Flensburg to keep my
appointment, there had been an accident on the way. When I arrived at the
incident the medics were loading the poor chap into an ambulance helicopter. It
seems he had been on the scooter that was peeking out from the underneath of a
car. Hope he wasn't hurt too badly, it could have been me or you, who knows
when fate is going to catch you.
When at last I arrived at "The Dentist" my knees were shacking,
I was scared he would niggle me like he did last Thursday. Thank Heavens,
everything went well. The tooth was quiet and it could be filled. That took the
whole of thirty minutes, so afterwards I had lockjaw, better lockjaw than two
hours of pain.
I'm such a baby, I can't stand pain. It's a good job I wasn't born a
woman. I would never have had a second child.
Not bad for not
knowing what to write! I know it's drizzle but I managed to get some things off
my chest and that can't be bad:-)
