My Daily Banana
Today the Banana is gen technically manipulated :-)

Event of the Day:
2nd June 1953
The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II

On the same day in 1994 an

RAF Chinook helicopter crashes in Scotland on the island of Mull of Kintyre.

The four crew members and twenty-five passengers were killed, they were a big knob delegation of UK experts of Northern Ireland intelligence. Crew negligence was ruled the cause of the accident, this was overruled in 2011. This is another piece of history I read of in one of Ian Rankin's books the Falls from the Rebus Collection.

Birthday of the Day:
2nd June 1941
Charlie Watts

Original member of the Rolling Stones. He's the grey haired loony behind the drums. I don't know much to say of him, everyone behind Mick Jagger and Keith Richards is pale and almost unknown. Did he ever sing or compose one of the Stone's recordings? I don't think so, but like every foot soldier, the generals would be nothing without them. One of the best Stones LP-recordings is Their Satanic Majesties Request. Listen to it, it's great, they brought it out as competition to the Beatles Sgt Pepper's LP.

Died on this Day:
2nd June 2008
Bo Diddley

A blues, Rock 'n' Roll musician who influenced many enormous groups and musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton, the Yardbirds, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, the Who and many more of the talented.
Here's one of the many covers of a Bo Diddley song Diddy Wah Diddy interpreted by Captain Beafheart

And Bo Diddley himself singing the Original Diddy Wah Diddy from 1955

Non Cycle of the Day:

Today was another day when I didn't feel like riding my bike. My head was a little giddy so instead I had a nice stroll with Heike. We had a nice cuppa and as Heike was paying we also had a piece of strawberry cream cake. Mmm, it was good.

The fair is in town so we had a walk around it, twice to be precise, it's so small it takes only a quarter of an hour to circle it once. We were lucky, guess who we met? Kirsty, Jan-Eric and the three little ones. All the fun of the fair, that is one thing you can say for the wee ones, everything is bright, shiny and exiting. Isn't it nice to see how their eyes light up when they can ride one of the attractions?

The hidden Wonder
The Hidden Garden.
A garden in the middle of Niebüll, it doesn't belong to any house and the gardener only has flowers, lawn and a couple of fruit trees. It's a paradise in our small bustling town.

The Challenge:

I gained again, I now weight 95.6 kilos that's 400 grams more than last week. Two pieces of cake were too much, next week will look better!

That's it folks, see you again tomorrow. Have a nice day
