becomes chancellor of West Germany
And a good
chancellor he was, he didn’t give in to the terrorists of the Rote Armee
Fraction. In 1977 they kidnapped Hans Schleier and held him ransom in return
for their terrorist companions Baader, Meinhoff, Raaspe held in West German
prisons. When Helmut Schmidt refused an exchange Schleier was murdered, the
prisoned terrorists then committed suicide. How does the saying go? Good
Riddance to bad rubbish!

singer. Called himself a one eyed Negro Jew. He was part of the infamous
Rat-Pack with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin with whom he toured, drank, acted
in films such as Ocean’s 11. One song that comes to mind when thinking of Sammy
is “Candy Man” which he recorded in 1972.
