My Daily Banana

Photo of the Day:

I'm watching you buddy!

Event of the Day:

4th July 1865

Alice in Wonderland from Lewis Carroll is published

4th July 1776

Independence Day in the United States of America

The day celebrates when the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence declaring independence from the United Kingdom

Land of the Free,
because of the brave

Birthday of the Day:

4th July 1938

Bill Withers

Great rhythm and blues singer; he sang some easy going songs such as Lean On Me

Died on this Day:

4th July 2003

Barry White

The man with the deep, deep voice. He couldn't really sing, he mainly talked on his records; the records that were recorded are incredible. His main vocation was writing and producing music, I thank the heavens that he also recorded his own songs.
His two greatest hits were You're The First, The Last, My Everything and Can't Get Enough Of You're Love, Babe
and the song I like the most
Love Serenade it's very lascivious, part II is the best it's very lingering

Thoughts:

Tuesday at lunch time we had our gymnastics in the firm. At the time it seemed to be normal stretch and moving, but something was different; I can hardly move anymore, my legs are in such pain. I've got a bad case of sore thigh muscles, I cannot believe it; my legs are well trained through cycling and walking, but still the sport on Tuesday was too much. Today there was gymnastics again at lunch time; I had to give it a pass.
Andrea is on her way back to Aussieland, bye Andrea, Jim and Jerry. I hope to see you again in the near future, well maybe in six years when Sylvia and Frazer have their Golden Anniversary. That would be great if we could all get together again, maybe you could make it over also Fraser. We could go on a photo safari through Lincoln and the county.
Bon Voyage, ich habe euch lieb XXX<3

Look what I found on the web:
16 Abbot Street

Down Michaelgate
Gibraltar Hill
What a contrast modern and antique

I can imagine this house on the Spanish coast,
but not in Lincoln and absolutely not in the Cathedral area.
The architecture is great, the garage spoils the harmony.
Corporation Street
What a beautiful house, it is well kept
Except for the missing sculpture above the door
The Green Dragon
One of my haunts in years gone by.

The Cathedral again, you can't miss it in Lincoln
On the left there's the Drill Hall donated to Lincoln in 1890 by Mr Ruston
During the typhoid epidemic in 1905 it was used as an infirmary,
one of the happier events: the Rolling Stones appeared here on New Years Eve 1963

Watergate The old factory after the bridge is now an expensive apartment house

Watergate, this used to be Ruston Turbines it's now Siemens

Rosemary Lane
Wesleyan School from 1859
it has two entrances; the gate was the girl's entrance and the infant school, the main entrance was the boy's:
now the house is full of apartments

I wouldn't mind a living room with that window

The old museum (where it is now?), the library and the Drill Hall
That was another view around town, seen anything new?

Bye for today, I have to work.
