My Daily Banana
Photo of the day:
The Mammutleaf is growing. The leaves are forming. I wonder what it'll look like next week?
Word of the day:
seditious
moving people to rebel against the state or crown
German: aufhetzen gegen Bund und State
Name of the day:
Gordon
Derives from a Scottish surname meaning „spacious fort", also a Clan in Scotland „The House of Gordon"; not as many think „Gordon’s Gin"
My father George, worked in his young years as a joiner, for the clan chief the Earl of Huntly, at the Huntly Castle, Banffshire, Scotland

Ice cream cone makes its debut
in St. Louis, Missouri, United States at the Saint Louis Exposition. It was said, that the ice cream vender ran out of bowls, so he used rolled-up waffles to serve his ice cream.
What would we do in summer without them? Slurp the ice cream out of our hands, lie on the beach with a bowl and? I know you can get waxed paper cups with dinky plastic spoons, but that’s not the same. Let’s honour the ice cream cone for valuable duties deemed to mankind.
Make your own, it doesn’t seem to be that much work (go to the link below):
Birthday of the day:

Willie Nelson
in
Abbott, Texas, United States
country singer, not my cup of tea, but he often teams up with very good artists i.e. Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Rosanne Cash, Neil Young to name a few.
Here is a tune where Nelson sings with Wallon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson

In Berlin, Germany
Adolf Hitler, German Dictator (1936-45), commits suicide at 56
No one, in their lifetime, has caused as much terror and pain as this man. Through him many have died Jews, Brits, American and many Germans. Shame on him! I hope the Autobahn took him straight to hell.

Only one thing positive can be said about the War. The End (and the get together of my mother and father)

Cycle ride of the day:
Well today the wind has changed from East to West. I expect the weather to change. The cycle round was very pleasant. I did a count of zero cars in the back roads.
Heike was at Kirsty’s, so I did a short detour; I can’t miss out on seeing the little ones. Martje was kaputt, she had been to the kindergarten this morning and was tired out from playing. She didn’t want to be photographed, she didn’t want a drink out of my water bottle and worst of all she didn’t want a kiss. The little one, Gretje was in the pram, this morning she had a vaccination and was sleeping it off. Like me after a drink.
The Challenge:
All's quiet on the Western Front. I'm doing FDH (friss die Hälfte! English: Eat half of the normal!) and sport; cycleing, walking and gymnastics. It's time for you, my challengers, to get worried, Monday's payday ;-)
Bye, see you all tomorrow. Have a good day :-)
