Event of the Day:
22nd July 2011
Anders Behring Breivik caused a Bomb explosion in the Oslo parliamentary quarter; two hours later he turned up on the island of Utøya where he massacred 77 youths.
Birthday of the Day:
22nd July 1947
Don Henley
the drummer of the Eagles he was the lead vocalist on many of the Eagles hit recordings such as Desperado, One of these Nights and Hotel California
22nd July 1948
Otto Waalkes
The East Friesian comedian, half an hour of his humour is palatable, but no longer (he's as good as Monty Python, the main difference is he's alone on stage and he does Kraut humour)
When I drove a taxi on Sylt, back in the early nineties, I had him as a guest. That was interesting, we had a long talk, in English while I drove him to an early game of tennis. I can't remember what we talked about or if he gave me a tip, but I remember we had a good conversation.
Died on this Day:
22nd July 1992
Wayne McLaren aka Mr Malboro Man
He died of lung cancer at 51, what a horrible way to die.
Don't smoke it's addictive and look at all the people it has slaughtered.
Thoughts:
My Daily Banana
has hit the ton. Today is my 100th publication! Who would have thought I would keep going so long? Me in the least!!
Has anyone other than me read all my posts? If yes, then well done and thank you.

Without you people out there I wouldn't have lasted this long, it's not that it is hard work or that I can't think of anything to write about; sometimes I have to steal the time from some other important or not important activity. If I think about it though; there's always time to be found somehow; like now I could be working, racking in the dollars, but instead what am I doing? Blogging! I don't earn money with it, but I can say I've brought our family and friends closer together
If I look into the statistics of the blog; until today 2745 people have visited my blog: And where they all come from, amazing: Chile, Russia, Ukraine, France, India, United States and United Kingdom have both gone over the 400 mark, Australia 250 and Germany 1350. That means I have had an average of just under thirty visitors a day! Thanks!
