Author; Leon's books are fiction placed in a historic background.

The first book that I read was Trinity; in which he writes about the troubles in Ireland, from when they originated to the times of the splitting of the land into Northern Ireland and the Republic of Northern Ireland.

The book changed my prejudice thoughts against the Irish into positive thoughts; I learned where the troubles started and why. That's something that wasn't in the newspapers or magazines or taught at school. All that was said is that the Provos and the IRA are at fault.

The second book that I read was Exodus; about the Jews who had been freed from the Nazi concentration camps only to be incarcenated into British prison detention camps and their plight to escape to the Given-Land: Israel. Very interesting was reading about the detention camp in Cyprus; it was Caraolos and that is where Sylvia, my sister and I went to school in 1960-1961.

(died of colon cancer at 53)

 

aka Morticia Addams from the Addams Family.

 

 

She was the beautiful wife of Gomez, she wore a long black wig over her short blond hair to play the part.

 

 

Thoughts:

 

 

I'll be happy when the fields are bare! Yesterday Heike and I went for a longish cycle ride through the fields around our area. The wind and the sun were high and the farmers were out harvesting their crops. What a combination; it's enough to cripple anyone and for me with my allergies it was murder. It was so bad that Heike kept overtaking me and pushing me along; usually it's the other way around, but I was wheezing out of my last hole (that's a German expresion: "aus dem letzten Loch pfeifen")and hoping the ride would soon come to an end.

It finally did and we landed at the Kaffeemaus, our favorite cafe.
