Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon aka Queen Mum

She loved her husband (King George VI) her daughters (Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margerate) and her gin. I cannot comment on the sequential order, but the gin helped keep her alive till her one hundred and first birthday

When I think of him I think of the song (And I think to myself) What a Wonderful World

Died on this Day:

Hans-Christian Andersen

Writer of many children's books such as the Steadfast Tin Soldier, The Ugly Duckling or The Emperor's New Clothes. The stories always had a serious sideline; such as in the Ugly Duckling: don't be led by first impressions: or the Emperor's Clothes: don't be vain or be led by others, use your own sight and opinion.

Thoughts:

Three thousand clicks: Thank to all of you for coming to my blog. It makes me proud, I never expected so many people that would be interested in my facts and fictions.

Today we were out bramble picking. Heike wanted us to do a long walk and start picking at the furthest point and work our way home. Not me though, I wanted to do it the opposite way; guess who won? I did and the first patch of brambles just 100 metres from home had enough ripe fruits to satisfy our needs. After a half an hour of battle with the thorns we had one and a half kilos of the berries; that was enough for this week. Next week we can harvest some more.

After a short rest we went for a walk around the outskirts of Niebüll, our usual Sunday stroll that in the end takes us to the Kaffeemaus. The sun was shining and the coffee was good, just another quiet lazy Sunday afternoon until: the Petersen family invaded our table. The quiet was over the three kiddies say to that. What a great highlight to our beautiful day!
Here's some photos of our little ones:

We were sat at our favourite café
and then

Look who was in Niebüll
It's been a month since we saw them
the little one has grown and she's so awake

Proud of the gap

Dreaming,
that's how I managed to get a photo of her
She usually hides as soon as she sees me taking a picture

Martje with Jan

Oma with Gretje

Gretje's fascinated from her Opa

Ain't she sweet,
she's a gal that can't be beat,
ain't she really irresistible,
ain't she sweet?

Enough for today,
see you all tomorrow
Bye xxx
